Tuesday figures to be a pretty big day for Steeler Nation as the league is set to unveil the complete 2012 NFL schedule for all 32 teams tonight on both ESPN and the NFL Network. The Steelers 2012 opponents have been known since the 2011 season ended and they will play home games against the Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, San Diego Chargers, New York Jets Jets and Kansas City Chiefs in addition to their yearly home hosting of the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals and the Cleveland Browns. The Steelers 2012 away games are against the Dallas Cowboys, Tennessee Titans, Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders and the New York Giants. Also of course on the road will be games against the Ravens, Bengals and the Browns. There has been speculation for the last several weeks that the Steelers will open up week 1 on Sunday night football against the Broncos in what figures to be the first game for quarterback Peyton Manning in a Bronco uniform. We will get our answer to that tonight for sure.
Also on Tuesday the Steelers are set to unveil their 2012 throwback jerseys and uniforms for the 80th anniversary season at 4 eastern time on Steelers Live At 4. The speculation has been rampant for weeks that the Batman type jersey from the 60\’s will be the one chosen for 2012 with the film The Dark Knight Rises set to be released soon and being as it was filmed on location in Pittsburgh, it makes too much sense. The Steelers could also opt to go for the rugby type jerseys from 1933, the first year of the franchise. We will know the answer for sure later on this afternoon and we will pass along all of the info as soon as we get it.
