The Pittsburgh Steelers wrapped up practice preparations on Friday for their AFC wild card on Sunday against the Denver Broncos and the Friday injury report has some expected bad news as center Maurkice Pouncey (ankle) did not practice for a second straight day due to aggravating his injured left ankle during practice on Wednesday. Pouncey is listed as questionable this week, but Gerry Dulac reported earlier today that he will not play Sunday. With Pouncey expected to be out, guard Doug Legursky (shoulder) will likely get the start at center against the Broncos after practicing fully again on Friday. Also not practicing on Friday, as expected, were running back Mewelde Moore (knee) and cornerback Cortez Allen (shoulder) and both were ruled out on the Friday injury report. Rookie undrafted running back Chad Spann will dress with Moore out as he was promoted from the practice squad earlier in the week and he will serve as the #3 running back against the Broncos behind Isaac Redman and John Clay. Defensive end Brett Keisel (groin), safety Troy Polamalu (calf) and linebacker James Harrison (toe) all practiced fully after all three sat out on Wednesday and Thursday. They are listed as probable. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (ankle) and linebacker LaMarr Woodley (hamstring) are also listed as probable after both practiced fully again on Friday. Tackle Jonathan Scott (back) practice fully Friday and is probable.
For the Broncos on Friday, safety Brian Dawkins (neck) and fullback Spencer Larsen (knee) both sat out for a third straight day and Dawkins is listed as out, while Larsen is doubtful. Wide receiver Eddie Royal (toe) and linebacker Von Miller (thumb) both practiced fully and is probable. Safety David Bruton (achilles) and defensive back Jonathan Wilhite (illness) were both listed as questionable.
