Season 2, Episode 54 of The Terrible Podcast is up and David Todd and I get right into the Pittsburgh Steelers 14-3 win last night over the Cleveland Browns and start off with tipping our hat to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and his ability to come back in the second half despite a nasty looking ankle injury. We recap the other injuries and wonder if center Maurkice Pouncey might be the one we should worry about the most being able to play a week from Monday against the San Francisco 49ers. During the injury talk we talk about the brief appearance of Charlie Batch in the game. Not very good.
Next we get into the game talk and of course cover the hit by linebacker James Harrison on quarterback Colt McCoy and we both agree that it is hard to defend him in this instance. While we both agree that he will likely be fined, we are not 100% confident if he will be suspended for a game after we hash it out. We talk about the fumbles in the redzone by Hines Ward and Heath Miller, the continued progress of Antonio Brown and the Steelers failure to score on four straight running plays deep in the Browns end. Should Mike Tomlin had kicked the field goal there? We are both on opposite sides of the fence with our answers.
Chris Kemoeatu gets talked about for all the wrong reasons and we discuss if Trai Essex should or will get the start at left guard should Pouncey not make it back against the 49ers. Who shined on defense? William Gay and Larry Foote for starters, but I tell David I think the entire linebacker group played very well. We talk about several other key points of the game as we recap and will talk more about it on the Monday podcast.
We close by making our weekly picks of all the other games in week 15 before closing out the show. Make sure to tune back in on Monday for more Steelers Browns talk.
