Steelers outside linebacker LaMarr Woodley has been named AFC Defensive Player of the Month today after recording 7.5 sacks in the month of October. Woodley became the first player in Steelers history to register multiple sacks in four consecutive games. The Steelers went 4-1 in October and Woodley also registered 25 tackles and an interception to go with his sacks.
Woodley had gotten off to a slow start this season after signing a new six-year, $61.5 million deal early on in training camp, but he found his groove in week 5 against the Titans and that is when his sack barrage started.
Woodley also turns 27 years old today. What a great birthday present to start the day with.
