I went ahead and cobbled together the TOX stats from week 8 to get them out of the way and teams with a plus 2 TOX this week went 7-2 overall. The Chargers were a bad snap away from making it 8-1. Year to date in head to head games the plus 2 teams are 62-16 for a 79% winning percentage. That is 1% off of the expected 80% number. Damn those Chargers.
Teams with a mere positive TOX stat went 8-3 this week. Teams with a positive turnover differential went 7-2 overall and teams with a positive explosive play differential went 8-4 this week.
Year to date the Lions have now busted a positive 20 and are 4 ahead of the Texans. The Steelers remain at a plus 1 TOX after being even this week against the Patriots. They play the Ravens this week who have a plus 12 TOX, thanks mostly to the plus 9 TOX they put up week 1 against the Steelers.
It should be noted that the Jets, Falcons, Raiders, Buccaneers, Bears and Packers were on the bye this past week and their TOX stats were carried over from week 7.
