Scott Brown reported on Twitter today that Steelers left guard Chris Kemoeatu could be activated off the active PUP list as early as next week as he continues to rehab his knee. Brown reports that Kemoeatu has been dealing with some arthritis and bone fragments that causes swelling and it was so bad in July, that he couldn\’t get out of bed for a stretch of time.
Doctors reportedly told Kemoeatu that rehab was his best course of action instead of having surgery. He has been running at practice over the last several days and may attempt to do some sled work today according to Brown. Rookie 6th round draft pick Keith Williams opens as the Steelers back-up left guard on the depth chart that was issued today according to Steelers Digest. Kemoeatu will of course not play Friday against the Redskins, so Williams could possibly see quite a few first half snaps to gauge where he is in his development.
