Post Gazette Steelers beat writer Ed Bouchette had a great interview this afternoon on 93.7 The Fan as he detailed his Wednesday sit down with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. They mostly talked about the Ben wedding date announcement and Ed was very entertaining. At one point Bouchette quickly recounts the 2000 minicamp locker room fight between linebacker Earl Holmes and running back Richard Huntley. I had almost forgotten that it ever took place and quickly searched the internet archives to find a copy of the article that Bouchette wrote for the next morning. Here is part 1 and here is part 2. I think the “Tale of the Locker Room Tape” was a brilliant idea as well. Reading the article took me back in time. Roger Duffy, Kris Farris and Kevin Henry are names I have not heard in years. Although the incident took place nearly 11 years ago, it feels like it has been 20. My how time gets away from you. Thank God for the internet during the offseason. Make sure to listen to the Bouchette interview all the way through as his quip about Ben\’s dogs reading the paper is a great line.
