Steelers 2010 Training Camp Day 13 Recap & Notes – Wednesday – August 11th

Day 13 of training camp is in full swing in Latrobe with two practices today, with the later once again being open to the public. We will have news, notes, nuggets and practice information from today posted up on this page as we get it in. Check back often through out the evening to see the updates per our usual.

  • Special teams session in the morning.
  • James Harrison was dressed in morning session.
  • Matt Spaeth present, but not working.
  • Joe Burnett not visible with an injury.
  • Several vets were off this morning including Troy Polamalu, Hines Ward, James Farrior, LaMarr Woodley and Arnaz Battle.
  • Mostly team drills in the morning session.
  • Ben Roethlisberger took all the first team reps.
  • Bruce Arians says no decision on QB rotation or playing time for Saturday has been decided yet.
  • Arians says Emmanuel Sanders and Antonio Brown are up and down like yo-yos.
  • Jason Worilds says not 100% yet per radio interview. Not quite sure what role is yet with team.
  • Harrison in pads this afternoon. Expects to play with 1st team on Saturday night.
  • No Matt Spaeth or Joe Burnett again this afternoon thus far.
  • Gibson & Worilds rotating 3rd team left outside linebacker spot. Timmons working at right outside 3rd team for versatility.
  • Working 11 on 11 3rd down drills.
  • Byron Leftwich taking first team snaps.
  • Ben Roethlisberger taking 2nd team snaps.
  • Maurkice Pouncey working as 2nd team center.
  • Stefan Logan working slot receiver spot on 3rd team.
  • Logan, Emmanuel Sanders and Antonio Brown working on returns.
  • Working 7 on 7 drills now.
  • Roethlisberger throwing perfect balls.
  • Working deep in own end at drill trying to get 1st down. Dwyer working 3rd team RB.
  • Backup NT Chris Hoke having knee looked at on sideline.
  • Hoke knee injury described as minor, Spaeth has groin tweak, Burnett still out with ribs, Arnaz Battle has training camp knee.
  • Tony Hills (ankle) and Andre Frazier (knee) back running & trying to get back to practice from injuries.
  • Steelers defense giving offense 4-3 looks as Steelers play 6 of first 7 games against 4-3 defensive fronts.
  • Rookie DB Crezdon Butler working at cornerback, nickel back and safety.
  • Mike Tomlin holding noon press conference on Thursday as there is no morning session.
