Duke University wide receiver coach Scottie Montgomery has accepted a similar position with head coach Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers. An official announcement is expected in the coming days. Montgomery is expected to fill the coaching role vacated by Randy Fichtner when Fichtner was promoted to quarterbacks coach a few weeks ago. Montgomery entered the NFL in 2000 as a rookie free agent with the Carolina Panthers and went on to play for the Denver Broncos and the Oakland Raiders. Montgomery also played for the Georgia Force in the Arena Football League. Montgomery has coached the wide receivers at his alma mater since 2006.
