There are a few incomplete versions of the 2010 NFL Calendar floating around and I have had a few emails asking if I can post a more complete version. So here is the 2010 NFL Calendar of important dates.
February 8 – Waiver system begins for 2010 season.
February 11 – First day clubs can designate franchise or transition players.
February 24 – March 2 – NFL Scouting Combine, Indianapolis, Indiana.
February 25 – Deadline for clubs to designate franchise and transition players.
March 4 – Deadline for clubs to exercise options for 2010 on all players who have option clauses in their 2009 contracts.
March 4 – Expiration date of all player contracts due to expire after 2009 season.
March 4 – Deadline for clubs to submit Qualifying Offers to Restricted Free Agents whose contracts are expiring.
March 4 – Deadline for clubs to submit minimum salary offers to Exclusive Rights Free Agents.
March 5 – Free agency period begins.
March 5 – Trading period begins.
March 15 – Offseason workouts can commence.
March 21-24 – NFL Annual Meeting, Orlando, Florida.
March 22– 2010 compensatory draft picks announced.
April 13 – 2010 NFL Schedule released.
April 15 – Deadline for signing and submission of Offer Sheets by Restricted Free Agents.
April 21 – Deadline for Old Clubs to match Offer Sheets submitted by Restricted Free Agents.
April 22-24 – NFL Draft, New York City.
May 24-26 – NFL Spring Meeting, Dallas, Texas
June 1 – Deadline for old club to send tender to its unsigned Restricted Free Agents or to extend Qualifying Offer, whichever is greater, in order to retain rights.
June 1 – Deadline for old club to send tender to its unsigned Unrestricted Free Agents to retain rights if player is not signed by another club by July 22 or beginning of veteran training camp, whichever is earlier.
June 15 – Deadline for Restricted Free Agent to accept Qualifying Offer (if higher than 110% of previous year’s salary).
June 27-30 – NFL Rookie Symposium, Carlsbad, California.
July 22 – Signing period ends at 3:00 pm CST for Unrestricted Free Agents to whom June 1 tender was made by old club and for Transition Players and Franchise Players who are Subject to the rules for Transition Players and Franchise Players.
Late July – Steelers Training Camp begins.
August 7 – Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, Canton, Ohio.
August 8 – Hall of Fame Game.
August 31 – Roster cutdown to maximum of 75 players.
September 4 – Roster cutdown to maximum of 53 players.
September 9-13 – 2010 Kickoff Weekend.
October 19 – Trading deadline.
October 31 – International Series, London, England (San Francisco 49ers vs. Denver Broncos).
November 16 – Signing deadline for franchise players.
