The Steelers promoted Randy Fichtner from wide receivers coach to quarterbacks coach on Tuesday. Fichtner takes over the role of Ken Anderson, who retired shortly after the end of the 2009 season. Fichtner coached quarterbacks at three different places in the college ranks – from 1990-93 at Memphis, from 1997-2000 at Arkansas State and from 2001-06 at Memphis when he also was the offensive coordinator. The move means the Steelers now have an opening on their coaching staff for a wide receivers coach. One name to keep an eye on as a possible replacement is Tyke Tolbert. Tolbert was on the Bills staff last year.
