The Good, The Bad, The Ugly In Loss To Chiefs

The Good:

Ben Roethlisberger spread the ball around to 8 different pass receivers and completed 32 of 42 passes for 398 yards.

Rashard Mendenhall had 116 total yards on the day and ran hard. He also saved a touchdown on the interception return that resulted in only 3 points instead of 7.

Hines Ward had 10 catches for 128 yards and one touchdown. He also delivered a crushing block in the game to free Heath Miller.

LaMarr Woodley had 2 sacks on the day.

The Bad:

Heath Miller had 7 catches, but should of had 8 as he had one bounce of his hands and was intercepted by Andy Studebaker.

Mike Wallace only had 2 catches and fumbled the ball after the first catch of the day.

Ben Roethlisberger had an ill advised pass into the endone that resulted in a 94 yard return and 3 points for the Chiefs.

The Ugly:

Special teams struck again on the opening kickoff as Jamaal Charles took the opening kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown. On the day they surrendered 177 kickoff return yards.

Secondary play in the second half was atrocious giving up several big plays. Ike Taylor dropped a sure interception and William Gay looked lost at times.

Offensive play calling in key situations was horrible, most notable was the pitch out to Mewelde Moore on 3rd and 2 on the Steelers overtime drive.

8 penalties for 85 yards.
