The Steelers began practice preparations on Wednesday for the upcoming Sunday night game versus the Baltimore Ravens. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (head) practiced fully today and without a helmet. Quarterback Charlie Batch (wrist) did not practice as he had surgery today on his wrist, he has been ruled out this week. Guard Chris Kemoeatu (knee) did not practice and will be out this week as well with a MCL sprain. Safety Troy Polamalu (knee) also did not practice as he recovers from a PCL strain and in all likelihood will be out again this week. Defensive end Travis Kirschke (calf) was limited on Wednesday, while linebacker James Farrior (not injury related) and wide receiver Hines Ward (not injury related) were given a veterans day off.
For the Ravens on Wednesday, center Matt Birk (neck), linebacker Ray Lewis (ankle), safety Ed Reed (foot), tight end L.J. Smith (illness) and linebacker Terrell Suggs (knee) did not practice today. Tight end Todd Heap (ribs) and nose tackle Haloti Ngata (ankle) were both limited today, while linebacker Jarret Johnson (shoulder) practiced fully.
