The Steelers began practice preparations on Wednesday for the upcoming Sunday game versus the Minnesota Vikings. Wide receiver Hines Ward and defensive end Travis Kirschke (not injury related) were given the day off. Safety Troy Polamalu (knee) was also allowed to sit out as well to rest his knee. Running back Rashard Mendenhall (knee) practiced on a limited basis today as he is recovering from a bruised knee suffered against Cleveland. All four players should practice fully on Thursday. Linebacker Andre Frazier (quad) practiced fully and is not listed on the injury report.
For the Vikings on Wednesday, cornerback Antoine Winfield (foot) did not practice and there is some concern he will not be ready by Sunday. Safety Husain Abdullah (back), safety Eric Frampton (ankle), wide receiver Percy Harvin (shoulder), tackle Phil Loadholt (ankle), running back Adrian Peterson (ankle), wide reciever Darius Reynaud (hamstring) and safety Madieu Williams (quadricep) were all limited in practice participation today.
