The Steelers wrapped up practice preparations on Friday and will now get ready to travel to Detroit to take on the Lions. Running back Willie Parker (toe) sat out Friday\’s practice once again and is listed as out as he still is struggling with his turf toe. Safety Troy Polamalu (knee) remained limited in practice while wearing a knee brace, but has been given the doubtful tag. It is looking more like he will try to be ready against the Browns as he proclaims he is ready now. Linebacker Andre Frazier (shoulder) and guard Chris Kemoeatu (ankle) practiced fully on Friday and are both listed as probable on the injury report. Tight end David Johnson (ankle) practiced on a limited basis after sitting on Thursday and is questionable, but should play. If indeed Johnson is ready, then the Steelers will unlikely need to promote running back Isaac Redman from the practice squad.
For the Lions on Friday, rookie quarterback Matthew Stafford (knee) was limited in participation today and is listed as questionable on the injury report. Defensive tackle Sammie Hill (ankle), defensive tackle Grady Jackson (knee), defensive end Dewayne White (hamstring) and safety Ko Simpson (hamstring) did not practice on Friday White and Hill are listed as out while Simpson is questionable and Jackson is probable. Defensive end Cliff Avril (hamstring) and running back Kevin Smith (shoulder) both practiced fully again on Friday with Avril questinable and Smith probable. Tackle Gosder Cherilus (shoulder), safety Kalvin Pearson (quad), wide receiver Calvin Johnson (thigh), linebacker Ernie Sims (shoulder) and tight end Brandon Pettigrew (hamstring) all were limited on Friday with Sims, Johnson and Pettigrew listed as probable, Cherilus and Pearson questionable.
