Steelers Six From Around The Web – Monday August 10th

Bob Glauber from Newsday talked to new Hall of Famer Rod Woodson over the weekend and got his thoughts on the 2009 Steelers. Woodson says he does not expect the Steelers to repeat if they don’t run the ball better and protect the quarterback. I think Woodson will win the Captain Obvious award this week from Steeler Nation.

The first Steelers game release is out for the upcoming game on Thursday versus the Arizona Cardinals. This will need to be viewed in Adobe as it is a PDF file.

Jim Wexell has a story on short-yardage running back hopeful, Isaac Redman. Redman scored two of the three touchdowns Sunday in the inaugural goal-line drill.

Eric Metz, the agent for defensive end Brett Keisel, flew in from Arizona to spend the past weekend in Latrobe in an attempt to move along contract talks. Keisel is rumored to be next on the Steelers list for an extension as he is in the final year of his contract.

Scott Brown has a small breakdown on the eight receivers in camp vying for the 3 or 4 roster spots behind Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes.

The Philadelphia Eagles have been snake bitten with injuries so far in camp. The newest editions of injured players they have their fingers crossed about are quarterback Kevin Kolb and defensive end Trent Cole. Someone needs to do an exorcist in Bethlehem.
