The NFLPA website is showing that Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor has restructured his contract to free up some cap room. The new base salary in 2009 for Taylor is $2,640,000.00 versus the previous amount of $3,500,000.00. Taylor signed a five-year, $23.75 million contract that included a $6.4 million signing bonus and $1.25 million in performance incentives in September of 2006. Taylor was set to count around $6,100,000.00 against the cap in 2009, so that number figures to be reduced now to around $5 million. The restructure likely included more guaranteed money on the back end as Taylor is likely not one to give money back to the team. More details will be released on this soon.
