Steelers linebacker and 2008 defensive player of the year, James Harrison, made a great gesture on Monday as he reported to the first offseason workout session the Steelers held on Monday. Harrison\’s agent, Bill Parise, said that both sides remain in constant contract talks, so at this time there was no need for Harrison to miss the session as it could lead to unneeded tension for both Harrison and the Steelers. Harrison made $1.2 million last season, making him one of the NFL\’s best bargains at linebacker. Harrison is looking for a longer more lucrative contract that will keep him in Pittsburgh for a while, perhaps the rest of his career. Signing Harrison to a longer contract is one of the Steeler\’s biggest priorities in the off season. Parise hopes the Harrison contracts will be wrapped up by the time mini camp starts.
