The Pittsburgh Steelers have started their tenth training camp practice of the 2014 season and we already have a good idea as to who is and isn’t practicing Wednesday.
Nose tackle Steve McLendon (concussion) appears to still be sidelined because of a concussion and this now makes four consecutive practices that he’s missed. We still have a few days to go until the preseason opener against the New York Giants, but as of right now, it’s not looking like he will be able to play Saturday night.
Also sitting out Wednesday are linebacker Ryan Shazier (knee/leg), linebacker Jarvis Jones (groin), wide receiver Lance Moore (unknown) and guard Ramon Foster (unknown).
Our very own Alex Kozora speculates that Foster may have jammed a finger during Monday’s practice, so we’ll have to wait and see if head coach Mike Tomlin addresses his status after practice.
This will be Shazier’s second straight practice that he’s missed after he suffered an injury late in Sunday’s practice.
The Steelers look like they have gotten wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey (concussion) back on the field Wednesday as the veteran newcomer was dressed in pads at the start of practice.
