The Pittsburgh Steelers have made a trade to move down in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. The Steelers are sending No. 156 (fifth round) to the Kansas City Chiefs for No. 164 (fifth round) and No. 226 (seventh round), per the Trib’s Chris Adamski.
It’s a small move down for the Steelers, who acquire a seventh-round pick. Barring any other trades, this will give Pittsburgh seven total selections in the NFL draft.
With the move up the boards, the Chiefs selected Oregon linebacker Jeffrey Bassa.
It’s the first trade GM Omar Khan and the Steelers have made during the 2025 NFL Draft. Despite plenty of speculation over potentially trading down in the first round or trading WR George Pickens, neither move was made.
The Steelers will soon be on the clock to make their pick in the fifth round, No. 164 overall. The team could be targeting a quarterback, a wide receiver, or additional defensive line help.
Barring any other deals, Pittsburgh will pick at No. 164, No. 185, No. 226, and No. 229. We’ll have articles, analysis, and scouting reports on the rest of the Steelers’ selections throughout the day.
