Steelers Invite Morgan State RB Alfonzo Graham To Rookie Minicamp

The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to extend invites to this weekend’s rookie minicamp, with Morgan State running back Alfonzo Graham the latest to get one.

Graham tweeted out Wednesday afternoon that he has accepted an invite to the Steelers’ May 12-14 minicamp.

Graham won the 2022 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) rushing title. The MEAC is a collegiate athletic conference whose full members are historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic regions.

After a long, winding road that included multiple stops at the JUCO level and then a canceled season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Graham returned to his native Baltimore to play at Morgan State. He burst onto the scene in his first season, leading the team in total offensive yardage. Graham recorded 506 rushing yards on 54 carries (9.4 yards per carry), five rushing touchdowns, 17 receptions, and 148 receiving yards. He also added 329 kick return yards on 15 attempts in 2021.

In his final collegiate season at Morgan State in 2022, Graham cemented his place as one of the top running backs in all of FCS football. In 11 games, Graham recorded 196 carries for 1,150 rushing yards, eight rushing touchdowns, 14 receptions, 85 receiving yards, and one receiving touchdown. Graham earned first-team All-MEAC honors and received an invitation to participate in the HBCU Legacy Bowl All-Star Game after the season.

In four college seasons across JUCO and FCS – Graham accumulated 316 carries, 2,006 rushing yards, 15 rushing touchdowns, 45 receptions, 408 receiving yards, two receiving touchdowns, 18 kick returns, and 402 kick return yards.

He’s undersized at 5-foot-8, 182 pounds, but he’s a speedy running back who is dangerous with the football in his hand. He could crack a 90-man offseason roster due to his speed, playmaking ability and his experience handling kick return duties in college.
