Report: Ravens To Sign CB Rock Ya-Sin To One-Year Contract

The Baltimore Ravens are adding another cornerback and it’s one that some fans Pittsburgh Steelers fans had hoped their team might consider.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Ravens are set to sign free agent cornerback Rock Ya-Sin after he underwent a physical today in Baltimore. According to Jordan Schultz of the Score, Ya-Sin is signing a one-year deal worth up to $6 million.

Ya-Sin, who was selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, limited opposing quarterbacks to just an 82.5 passer rating when targeted last season as a member of the Las Vegas Raiders. The Temple product is only 26 years old.

Last season, Ya-Sin played in 11 games for the Raiders and started nine of them. He played 665 total defensive snaps in 2022 on his way to registering 45 total tackles. He recorded seven defensed passes and one quarterback hit in 2022.

For his NFL career, Ya-Sin has 183 tackles, two for loss, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and 27 passes defensed in 52 regular season games.

Ya-Sin explained why he chose to sign with the Ravens.

“Great players on offense and on defense, “Ya-Sin said. I think we’re primed to win now. The right kind of culture, the right fit for me, I think. The right play-style, aggressive. The kind of division I want to play in. The kind of football I want to play. So I think it’s a great fit for me.”
