PFF Believes Steelers Secured Potential Starters With Every Pick Of 2023 NFL Draft

Praise continues to roll in for the Pittsburgh Steelers and their 2023 NFL Draft class.

Considered a consensus winner coming out of the three-day draft in Kansas City thanks to the additions of Broderick Jones, Joey Porter Jr., Darnell Washington and more, the hype and overall praise continued Friday as Pro Football Focus’ Trevor Sikkema stated that he believes the Steelers added potential starters with every pick in the draft.

“The Steelers drafted potential starters in rounds one through seven, and it’s very rare you can say that about any team any year,” Sikkema write. “Their start seemed picture-perfect, with them selecting Broderick Jones, Joey Porter Jr., Keeanu Benton and Darnell Washington. But the hits just kept coming with Nick Herbig and Cory Trice Jr. on Day 3. This is one of my all-time favorite hauls when compared to my draft board.”

If the Steelers landed potential starters with every draft pick, that would be quite the haul for the Black and Gold in the first draft with GM Omar Khan in charge.

Jones, Porter, and Benton should surely be starters for Pittsburgh in the near future , while Washington — assuming he stays healthy – should be able to play starter-level snaps for the Steelers and make a large impact moving forward offensively. As for linebacker Nick Herbig, cornerback Cory Trice Jr. and offensive lineman Spencer Anderson, if those three develop into starters for the Steelers, that would be quite impressive overall for the Steelers’ scouting staff.

There is no doubt that the Steelers had quite the draft in Khan’s first year in charge. It’s hard to come up with a better haul than what the Steelers had throughout the three-day event in Kansas City. Pittsburgh added a number of high-end prospects that were well regarded throughout the pre-draft process.

Now, it’s about how they’ll perform on the field. If things work out the way many expect, the Steelers could have quite the foundational draft class in Khan’s first year.
