No Game In Mexico For Steelers In 2020

As expected, the Pittsburgh Steelers will not play a game in Mexico during the 2020 season.

According to the NFL on Friday, the Arizona Cardinals will be the home team for a game at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City in 2020. That game will be against the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Rams, Detroit Lions, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Washington Redskins, or Philadelphia Eagles. The date and time of that game in Mexico have yet to be announced.

Steelers team president Art Rooney II made it clear again this past January that he’s open to having the team play in Mexico sometime in the near future.

“We continue to raise our hand and say we’re interested in playing a game in Mexico,” Rooney said during his annual end-of-the-season media session.

The Steelers also aren’t expected to play a game in London in 2020, either, and especially after it was announced several weeks ago that their 2020 scheduled road game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have played seven games in London dating back to the 2013 season, will take place at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Florida.

Will the Steelers play in Mexico in 2021? There’s probably a good chance of that happening. Even so, we won’t find out if that will be the case until roighly this same time next year.

The NFL is expected to release the full 2020 schedule sometime in April.
