Season 10, Episode 63 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can and in this Wednesday show, Alex Kozora and I start by going over the several signings the Pittsburgh Steelers have made since their 2019 season ended on Sunday. We discuss which players of the Reserve/Future signings that we’re most looking forward to seeing compete in 2020.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin had quite a bit to say during his Tuesday end-of-the-season press conference so Alex and parse the important talking points. We discuss Tomlin’s thoughts on the quarterback depth chart and pecking order, the priority of retaining outside linebacker Bud Dupree, possible coaching staff changes, the future of the running back position, the overall health of the team heading into the offseason and much, much more.
Assuming the Steelers ultimately place the franchise tag on Dupree in the coming months, how will they be able to fit that amount under the salary cap? Alex and I go over four players who might need to be cut to accommodate a Dupree franchise tag in addition to talking some about the soon-to-be restricted free agent tenders the team is likely going to need to afford.
Will quarterback Devlin Hodges be on the Steelers 53-man roster in 2020? What about veteran quarterback Paxton Lynch? Alex and I go over those questions in this show.
Alex and I spent a little time going over the Steelers season finale loss to the Baltimore Ravens and specifically what stood out to both of us on the all-22 tape from the game.
Alex and I finally close out this Wednesday show by answering several email questions we received from listeners.
As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post.
