Steelers LB Ryan Shazier Posts Uplifting Message, Video On Two-Year Anniversary Of Injury

It’s amazing that’s already been two years ago that Pittsburgh Steelers inside linebacker Ryan Shazier suffered his serious spinal injury against the Cincinnati Bengals. However, it’s even more amazing to see the progress the Steelers former first-round draft pick has made in his recovery from that serious injury.

On Wednesday night, the two-year anniversary of his injury, Shazier posted a very heartfelt message on his Instagram page in which he reflects on all that he’s accomplished in a 24-month span.

“Today has truly been a blessing,” Shazier wrote. “It’s been two years since I was injured. As the night comes to an end, I’m reflecting on how truly bittersweet this moment is because of how far I’ve come. I want to thank everyone who has been lifting me up and keeping me in their prayers. One thing I will promise you- I’m not going to stop. So keep Shalieving!!! God has a plan.”

Shazier also included a video in his Instagram post that documents his recovery from his injury and it’s quite inspirational.

While Shazier has spent the last two seasons on the Steelers Reserve/Injured list, he remains a huge fixture on the team as a quasi-coach and mentor. Whether or not Shazier will be able to contuse to his NFL career at some point in the future is still unknown, however. In the meantime, we’ll keep praying for him and marveling at his continued rehabilitation from his very unfortunate injury. He truly is an amazing person.
