Steelers Friday Injury Report Week 6: Rudolph, Barron, Washington, Nix, Samuels Ruled Out

The Pittsburgh Steelers have now released what will likely be their final injury report of Week 6 and the Friday offering shows that five players have now been official ruled out for the Sunday night road game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Sitting out again on Friday for the Steelers were inside linebacker Mark Barron (hamstring), fullback Roosevelt Nix (knee), running back Jaylen Samuels (knee), and wide receiver James Washington (shoulder) and all four were officially ruled out for the team’s Sunday night road game against the Chargers.

Also ruled out for the Sunday night game on Friday was quarterback Mason Rudolph (concussion), who practiced again on a limited basis. With Rudolph now out, rookie quarterback Devlin Hodges will make his first career start Sunday night against the Chargers and be backed up by quarterback Paxton Lynch, who was promoted from the practice squad to the 53-man roster on Friday.

Ending the week listed as questionable for the Steelers is cornerback Steven Nelson (groin), who was limited in practice on Friday. Cornerback Artie Burns said Friday he expects to start in place of Nelson Sunday night.

Practicing fully for the Steelers on Friday were outside linebacker Anthony Chickillo (foot), cornerback Justin Layne (illness), center Maurkice Pouncey (not injury related), cornerback Mike Hilton (foot), tight end Vance McDonald (shoulder), and guard Ramon Foster (not injury related) and all six players are expected to play Sunday night against the Chargers. Neither received a game status designation on the Friday injury report.

Chickillo has missed the Steelers last three games with a foot injury.
