Report: Steelers S Sean Davis Suffered Torn Labrum Against Seahawks

The Pittsburgh Steelers acquired versatile defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick from the Miami Dolphins Monday night and that required them giving up a 2020 first-round draft pick as part of the package. It will now be interesting to see how the Steelers ultimately use Fitzpatrick on defense moving forward and especially with safety Sean Davis reportedly now dealing with a shoulder injury.

According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Monday night, Davis suffered a torn labrum in his right shoulder in the team’s Sunday home loss to the Seattle Seahawks. That injury, however, is not expected to end Davis’ season.

Davis announced in May of 2017 that he played most of his 2016 rookie season with a torn labrum. However, its unclear still which shoulder that was.

Davis played 55 of the 79 total defensive snaps that the Steelers had Sunday against the Seahawks and he left the game later in the second half with his shoulder injury. Davis missed the Steelers regular season opener against the New England Patriots with an ankle injury.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin will hold his weekly press conference on Tuesday and hopefully he’ll give a status update on Davis at that time.
