Kevin Colbert Attends Texas A&M Pro Day

Kevin Colbert is back on the Pro Day circuit after a brief time at the annual Owner Meetings. Today, he’s reportedly at Texas A&M’s Pro Day, according to Justin Woodard, who spotted the Steelers’ GM.

A&M is a mild surprise given they don’t have a clear first round player. Their top prospect is center Erik McCoy, viewed as a borderline first/second round pick and the second best center in the draft, trailing only NC State’s Garrett Bradbury. Obviously, offensive line isn’t something the Steelers are going to target that early in the draft.

But there is plenty of mid-round picks and value. Tight end Jace Sternberger, nose tackle Daylon Mack, defensive end Kingsley Keke, and running back Trayveon Williams all fit that billing and are positions the Steelers certainly could target. Sternberger is a solid receiving tight end, Mack a former top recruit, Keke a productive player, while Williams is considered one of the draft’s best pass blockers.

Colbert being there is also notable since today is Iowa State’s Pro Day. That means he won’t be there to watch WR Hakeem Butler workout, dinging the chances of a guy like him being the 20th overall pick.

Below are the scouting reports we’ve written on all the A&M players covered so far.
