Steelers’ Scout Attends Colorado’s Pro Day

One more Pro Day sighting to finish out the day. The Pittsburgh Steelers had a rep at Colorado’s Pro Day, sending scout and former tight end Mark Bruener.

Justin Guerriero of the CU Independent had the news this afternoon.

The Buffs’ secondary is the highlight of the Pro Day. They have their “Big Three” of corners Chidobe Awuzie and Ahkello Witherspoon and safety Tedric Thompson.

The trio combined for nine interceptions, three forced fumbles, and and 46 pass breakups in 2016. Awuzie and Witherspoon should be Day Two picks, Awuzie probably a round ahead, while Thompson is an early Day Three selection for his excellent ball skills, responsible for seven of those interceptions.

Pittsburgh will likely continue to upgrade and add to their secondary in the offseason. Witherspoon’s size and length is similar to Artie Burns, making him a name to keep an eye on.

So far, the Steelers have also been spotted at Alabama’s, Temple’s, and Oklahoma’s Pro Days.
