Happy New 2017 League Year: Steelers Friday Night Five Questions

Steelers Depot Friday Night Five Questions

Happy Friday to all of you once again and welcome to the 2017 NFL league year.

So far, the Pittsburgh Steelers have re-signed two of their own unrestricted free agents and have had two more sign with other teams. It was painful to see linebacker Lawrence Timmons sign with the Miami Dolphins but that’s just part of the business. Timmons, as many of you know, was one of my all-time favorite Steelers when it comes to recent players. He was durable and not once do I remember him being an issue in the locker room or off the field. It seems like only yesterday that the Steelers drafted him in the first round out of Florida State.

Come next week at this same time the NFL transaction wire should slow to a crawl. In fact, Friday moved a lot slower than the last two days and that’s not overly surprising. Personally, I’ll be glad to see the NFL news cycle slow down a little bit as I need to get back to studying draft prospects with most of my free time.

As usual, I have five questions for you to answer on this Friday night and I hope several of you will take time to do just that.

Happy New Year once again and have a great weekend.

1 – Who was the last Steelers player who ended his career with another team that you just hated seeing it happen to? Alan Faneca? Joey Porter? Let me know.

2 – As expected, the top free agent cornerbacks have already signed. Even so, do you fully expect the Steelers to sign one between now and next Friday night? If so, name your best guess.

3 – The Steelers re-signed quarterback Landry Jones on Thursday and as expected, several aren’t happy with that decision. With that transaction now out of the way, are you still expecting the Steelers to draft a quarterback this year and if so, what round?

4 – The Cleveland Browns have been busy since the start of the new league year and even essentially bought a 2018 second round draft pick from the New England Patriots. Personally, I don’t think they’re done dealing. Regardless, tell me who think will be the Browns Week 1 quarterback.

5 – Will the Steelers next transaction be another re-signing or an outside free agent signing?
