Steelers Injury Report: Green Out Sick Thursday; Bell Excused

The Pittsburgh Steelers have now wrapped up their Thursday practice ahead of their Sunday AFC Championship game against the New England Patriots and once again a few players sat out the session.

Sitting out Thursday were running back Le’Veon Bell (not injury related), tight end Ladarius Green (concussion, illness) and linebacker James Harrison (shoulder, triceps). After practice ended, head coach Mike Tomlin said that Bell was excused for a personal reason and that means the running back has missed both Wednesday and Thursday.

As for Green, he sat out sick on Thursday and after being limited on Wednesday, it’s not looking like he’ll play Sunday against the Patriots. Harrison practiced fully on Wednesday so he may have just been given a day to rest his shoulder.

After sitting out Wednesday, linebacker Vince Williams (shoulder) was limited on Thursday and is expected to play against the Patriots. Practicing fully on Thursday after sitting out Wednesday were kicker Chris Boswell (illness), safety Sean Davis (shoulder), center B.J. Finney (illness), wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey (illness), quarterback Zach Mettenberger (illness), and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (not injury related).

Linebacker Anthony Chickillo (ankle) and safety Mike Mitchell (not injury related) both practiced fully on Thursday after being limited Wednesday. Chickillo looks to return this Sunday after missing the Steelers last two games.
