Steelers Vs. Ravens: Player Snap Counts – Week 9

The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered another embarrassing road loss to a team with a sub .500 record on Sunday and now enter Week 10 with a 4-4 record. The initial snap counts from the Week 9 loss to the Baltimore Ravens are now in and as usual, here is a recap of the notable numbers from the Sunday game in Florida.

Wide receiver Eli Rogers played 46 offensive snaps Sunday in Baltimore after being benched prior to the team’s bye week. Antonio Brown was the only Steelers wide receiver who played more snaps than Rogers.

The Steelers offense again used quite a few two and three tight end personnel groupings on Sunday as this is evidenced by the amount of snaps that Xavier Grimble (42) and Jesse James (31) both played. Even tackle Chris Hubbard played 3 snaps as an extra tight end.

Sadly, center Maurkice Pouncey only played a total of 19 snaps before having to leave the game for good with a dislocated thumb. He was relieved by B.J. Finney.

Defensively for the Steelers, cornerbacks Artie Burns and Ross Cockrell both played every snap and veteran cornerback William Gay was limited to sub-package work and that turned out to be 38 snaps.

Surprisingly, Anthony Chickillo led the Steelers outside linebackers in snaps played.

In his first game back from a hamstring injury, defensive end Cameron Heyward played 65 of the 70 total defensive snaps against the Ravens.

Safety Robert Golden rotated some with rookie safety Sean Davis on Sunday.

Backup inside linebacker Vince Williams was limited to mostly playing on special teams on Sunday as he only saw 3 defensive snaps.
