Wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey left today’s game with a right ankle injury. He injured it running downfield on a third down target, the pass falling incomplete, and seemed to twist his ankle badly as he went to the ground. Heyward-Bey immediately grabbed his ankle and laid on the ground in substantial pain.
His status is not clear but he seems unlikely to return.
Sammie Coates and Cobi Hamilton will pick up snaps in his absence. We’ll update you on any potential return or if/when he is ruled out.
That injury didn't look good for Heyward-Bey, the former McDonogh and University of Maryland standout. Putting no weight on right leg.

Usually a bad sign when the head coach feels compelled to come out on the field.

Predictably, he’s been ruled out for the rest of the game.
#Steelers WR Darrius Heyward-Bey sustained a right foot/ankle injury. He is OUT for the rest of today's game.
