Steelers Vs. Chiefs: Player Snap Counts – Week 4

The Pittsburgh Steelers had an impressive win Sunday night at Heinz Field over the Kansas City Chiefs and in doing so they closed out the first quarter of their 2016 regular season with a 3-1 record. The initial snap counts from the Week 4 home game are now in and as usual, here is a recap of the notable numbers from the most recent contest.

In his 2016 debut, Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell played 52 of a possible 59 offensive snaps on his way to registering 178 total yards from scrimmage. The Steelers had Bell and fellow running back DeAngelo Williams on the field together quite often against the Chiefs as that can easily be discerned by looking at the 17 total offensive snaps played by the latter.

Backup tackle Ryan Harris played a season-high 36 snaps Sunday night as he had to replace starter Marcus Gilbert, who left the game in the first half with a left mid-foot injury.

Defensively for the Steelers, you can see that the team mostly played base and nickel personnel groupings Sunday night as inside linebackers Lawrence Timmons and Vince Williams registered 75 and 72 snaps respectively.

Safety Jordan Dangerfield and cornerback Justin Gilbert both made their defensive debuts Sunday night with the former playing 67 total snaps in place of injured starter Robert Golden. Gilbert played 8 defensive snaps against the Chiefs

More stats from the Steelers Week 4 win over the Chiefs will be forthcoming in future posts after we finish charting the game.
