Some fantastic news to kick off your Monday. After weeks of uncertainty, James Harrison confirmed on his Instagram account he’ll be returning to play for 2016.

Harrison will play in his 14th season – his final one – with 13 of those coming in Pittsburgh. An undrafted free agent out of Kent State, Harrison has recorded 76.5 sacks in his football career. All but two of those have come with the black and gold. He is three sacks shy of breaking Jason Gildon’s franchise record and has a great chance to beat it this year. In 2015, he had five sacks, including three against the Indianapolis Colts.
UPDATE: In a very odd response, Harrison’s agent Bill Parise says that Harrison hasn’t confirmed a return to Pittsburgh. This is from the Beaver County Times’ Chris Bradford. Make of that what you will.
