It should come as no surprise to see a free agent who met and left the Pittsburgh Steelers sign somewhere else. So it should induce zero shock to know that OL Geoff Schwartz has signed with the Detroit Lions to a one-year deal.
Alex is roaring like a Lion! He's happy for my new team! #Schwartzing https://t.co/14UGEuKfam

Schwartz visited the team on March 24th but as mentioned, did not sign a contract. It’s a common pattern. Most players who sign with Pittsburgh do so on the day they arrive, rarely circling back after further testing the market.
It was a mild surprise to see him brought in in the first place but helps illustrate the team’s commitment to adding quality offensive line depth.
Stefen Wisniewski was also brought in for a visit and has not signed with anyone else.
Currently, the Steelers’ backup interior positions consist of Cody Wallace, Chris Hubbard, and B.J. Finney.
