Cincinatti Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict was in full-blown thug mode Saturday night in the AFC Wild Card game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and as a result, he’ll likely incur a few fines in addition to having to explain to his teammates why he and cornerback Adam Jones cost them the game.
In case you missed a few other things that Burfict did Saturday night, in addition to taking a cheap shot at wide receiver Antonio Brown late in the game, below are animated gifs of a few other plays that show what a thug the linebacker is.
While Steelers guard Ramon Foster was the player that received an unnecessary roughness penalty on this second quarter play, watch Burfict attempt to stomp on his foot. That’s so obvious.
Additionally, after Burfict sacked Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger late in the third quarter, watch below as he pivots around on top of him in order to drive his knee into the shoulder.
Burfict gets everything that is coming his way from the league office and he should probably be sat down for multiple games. According to Ed Werder of ESPN, a Bengals player told him that the behavior of Burfict and Jones went unchecked all year by the coaches and that player added that he knew the two would eventually lose a close game because of it.
A #Bengals player tells me 55/24 behavior unchecked all year, he knew they would lose close game b/c guys blow it emotionally/situationally
