Steelers Vs. Raiders: Player Snap Counts – Week 9

The Pittsburgh Steelers were able to notch their fifth win of the season Sunday at Heinz Field over the Oakland Raiders and they now currently sit in sixth place in the AFC as a result. The snap counts from Sunday’s game have now been compiled and outside of a few players, there really aren’t many surprises when you look at the numbers from both sides of the football.

Running back DeAngelo Williams only needed five plays off on Sunday as he played 80 of the 85 offensive plays in the game. Backup Jordan Todman saw the field for just three snaps in the game. Fullback Roosevelt Nix played a season-high 29 offensive snaps against the Raiders.

Rookie tight end Jesse James dressed for the first time of his career on Sunday and played 33 snaps. It will certainly be fun to break those snaps down in detail later on in the week.

Reserve offensive lineman Chris Hubbard saw the field for 7 plays as a blocking end.

Defensively for the Steelers, as usual, James Harrison led all of the outside linebackers in snaps played.

Because the team was forced to play so much nickel on Sunday, nose tackles Steve McLendon and Daniel McCullers combined to play 16 snaps. Most, if not all, of McCullers snaps came in goal-line situations. Cam Thomas did not play any defensive snaps on Sunday and that’s the first time that’s happened since he’s been in Pittsburgh. It’s clear that the team will be moving on from him after the season is over.
