It’s been months of non-stop football. Play, prepare, repeat. The Pittsburgh Steelers finally have met their bye week and are rightfully using that time to enjoy themselves. That included the Steelers’ defense getting together for dinner last night.
Several players posted photos of the night on Instagram.
Once a linebacker, always a linebacker, meaning Joey Porter also attended.
So did Jerry Olsavsky, seen in the back of this team photo.
Antwon Blake also posted a group photo of the defensive backs together. Carnell Lake naturally sat at the head of the table.
We’ve written about how close this team was before way back in the offseason. The Steelers certainly aren’t the only close-knit team in the league but you have to admire the bond they have formed with each other.
It led Vince Williams to send out this tweet about his feelings toward the team.
Love my team hope I retire in this black and gold

Let’s hope the Steelers can make that happen for him.
While we love the X’s and O’s here at Steelers Depot, we can definitely appreciate the feel-good soft news side of things, especially on a bye week. It’s great to see the team coming together and making good use of one of their rare days off they’ll have during the season.
