Steelers Will Allen, Sean Spence Injured In Loss To Patriots

The Pittsburgh Steelers dropped their 2015 regular season opener Thursday night the New England Patriots and they didn’t escape the game injury free.

According to head coach Mike Tomlin after the game, linebacker Sean Spence suffered a hamstring injury Thursday night while safety Will Allen potentially suffered a concussion. Both players suffered their injuries in the second half.

The veteran Allen started the game alongside fellow safety Mike Mitchell and he led the team total tackles with eight of them. Spence seemed to be primarily used on special teams Thursday night and he failed to register any stats.

The Steelers won’t play again until a week from Sunday so one would think that Allen might be ready to play by then. As for Spence’s status for the next game, we’ll have to wait and see just how serious his hamstring injury is.
