Steelers Waive WR Eli Rogers Injured To Make Room For WR Kenzel Doe

Earlier in the day we passed along the word that former Wisconsin wide receiver Kenzel Doe was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers and now the team had made that move official.

To make room for Doe on the 90 man roster, the Steelers waived undrafted rookie wide receiver Eli Rogers with the inured designation.

Rogers sprained a foot on Monday and it appears as though that will be a long-term injury. It’s a bad break for Rogers, who played his college ball at Louisville, as he reportedly had a nice start to training camp this year.

Rogers should clear waivers on Thursday and at that point should revert back to the Steelers injured reserve list.

While the undersized Doe didn’t rack up big receiving numbers at Wisconsin, he did finish his college career ranked No. 2 in the school’s history for career kickoff return average at 25.5 yards per runback. Additionally, Doe ranked seventh in school history in punt return yards with 481 of them

Doe will wear No. 82 for the Steelers.
