Will Allen To Star In Video Discussing Why Players Retire Early

Pittsburgh Steelers’ safety Will Allen has the reputation of an individual who makes an impact off the field as well as on it. His Will Allen Foundation has been a huge success and is going to expand in the fall. Today, he sent out a tweet showing he and former Steelers’ cornerback Bryant McFadden taking place in a video revolving around the question of why players retire early.

A release date or the exact format of the video has not been announced, but as you can tell, it’s in conjunction with 120 Sports, of which McFadden is a co-host of.

The Steelers somewhat experienced this recently after Jason Worilds announced his retirement at 27, though he had become a free agent. Several San Francisco 49ers have hung up their cleats. Chris Borland retired after his rookie season and Anthony Davis recently joined him. Patrick Willis and Jake Locker also stepped away from the game though there were current injury factors at play.

As veterans of the game, it’ll be interesting to hear the thoughts from Allen and McFadden. And if they think this trend will continue as more players understand the harsh reality of concussions.
