Steelers 2015 Pre Training Camp Roster Polls: Will S Robert Golden Make The Final 53?

With training camp now just a little more than one week away from beginning, we’ll continue on with our annual polls asking you to vote on whether or not certain Pittsburgh Steelers players who are perceived as being on the bubble will ultimately make the final 53 man roster out of training camp.

We’ve already had you vote on six players and you can find links to those polls along with the results of each below. Today, we will discuss safety Robert Golden and have you vote on his future.

2014 Season Recap:

After registering 51 defensive snaps in 2013, Golden only played a total of 10 in 2014 and because of that, we really didn’t get a chance to see whether or not he progressed any as a safety.

Golden, however, was a primary player on the Steelers special teams units once again in 2014 and he was even voted captain. On the punt coverage team, Golden was the upback and that’s a very important sport to man. He ended the regular season with 10 total special team tackles and that was the third-most on the team.

2015 Outlook:

Currently, Golden appears set to enter training camp as the fourth safety on the Steelers depth chart behind Mike Mitchell, Shamarko Thomas and Will Allen. He also should be considered a core special teams player once again.

During training camp and the preseason, it will be interesting to see if Golden can challenge Allen for his spot on the depth chart while also holding off the challenges of several other young safeties.

Vote below and tell us the reason why you voted the way that you did in the comments.
