Season 5, Episode 119 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and with David Todd back in the co-host chair on this Friday, we start the show off by talking quite a bit about Pittsburgh Steelers backup quarterback Landry Jones, who reportedly hasn’t looked very sharp during the team’s OTA practices. This leads to us talking about the other backup quarterback options on the Steelers roster as well. The Jones discussion results in us creating a 2013 draft exercise that we would like you to take part in.
Steelers defensive end Clifton Geathers has reportedly lost a lot of weight over the course of the offseason and he appears to be pushing Cam Thomas very hard during the team’s OTA practices. We talk about his chances of making the final 53 man roster this year and also wonder if the Thomas’ spot is safe if he does.
The Steelers will undoubtedly be extending the contract of defensive end Cameron Heyward over the course of the next several weeks and now that New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan has his new deal in place, we have a good idea as to what Heyward’s new deal will look like.
Ramon Foster and Kelvin Beachum are entering the final years of their current contracts so we revisit their situations and get David’s take on both them. While Lawrence Timmons is still under contract through the 2016 season, we look ahead at his situation based on comments he made Thursday.
As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here.
