Steelers Currently 4½ Point Road Favorites Over Jets

Now that they’ve won three straight games at home, the Pittsburgh Steelers will go on the road this week to play the 1-8 New York Jets. After initially opening up as 2½ point road favorites, the Steelers are currently favored by 4½ heading into Tuesday.

The Jets will start Michael Vick at quarterback Sunday and he has a 1-1-1 career record in his three previous starts against the Steelers. He’s only thrown one touchdown pass on the season and that came last week in his first start of the season against Kansas City Chiefs.

Defensively, the Jets have given up an average of 28 points per game so far this season and they’ve also allowed the most passing touchdowns in the league (24). They’ve also only managed one interception on defense all season.

The Steelers have already played down to their competition several times this season and it resulted in losses to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Cleveland Browns. Another loss to an inferior team Sunday would be brutal and head coach Mike Tomlin has to ensure that his team doesn’t take this game lightly.
