LeGarrette Blount Says Sunday TD Dance Was A Tribute To Antonio Brown

After running back LeGarrette Blount scored his first of two touchdowns Sunday in the New England Patriots 34-9 win over the Detroit Lions, he imitated the touchdown celebration that Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown does whenever he scores. After the game, Blount said he was not mocking his former teammate by imitating his scoring celebration

“That was to my homie, man,” Blount said, according to Lee Schechter of ESPNBoston.com. “He’s going to always be a lifelong friend of mine. That was a little tribute to him. And like I said, he’s always going to be a close friend of mine.”

Brown has done his Bennie Biggle Wiggle dance for some time now and if Blount says he did it Sunday as a tribute to to his former teammate, then you have to take him at his word.

Blount wound up rushing for 78 yards on 12 carries Sunday against the Lions and that performance came just four days after he signed with the Patriots following his waiving by the Steelers.
