As expected, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced the signings of three players to their practice squad Wednesday morning as defensive end Ethan Hemer, defensive back Jordan Sullen and guard Adam Gettis were all added to the ten man unit.
In order to make room for those players, wide receiver Derek Moye was released and cornerback Shaquille Richardson was placed on the practice squad reserve injured list.
Moye had been with the Steelers for quite a while and even spent the 2013 season on the 53 man roster. He was beat out this year in training camp by second-year wide receiver Justin Brown.
As for Richardson, who the Steelers drafted in the fifth round back in May, he’s been on the practice squad all season. We don’t know the nature of the injury that Richardson suffered to land him on the reserve injured list but he did battle a knee injury during the preseason.
