Steelers Injury Report: Thomas Out, Gilbert Doubtful, Shazier Probable

The Pittsburgh Steelers final injury report of the week is now out and it includes three players listed as being out.

As expected, nose tackle Steve McLendon (shoulder), cornerback Ike Taylor (forearm) and safety Shamarko Thomas (hamstring) will all miss the game Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. This will be the third straight game that Thomas has missed.

With McLendon out, Cam Thomas will again start at nose tackle and he will likely once again be spelled by rookie Daniel McCullers.

It’s not looking good for starting right tackle Marcus Gilbert (concussion) this week as he ends the week listed as doubtful as he continues to deal with a concussion.

With Gilbert likely to miss Sunday’s game, Mike Adams is expected to start in his place Sunday. In addition, guard Chris Hubbard will likely be given a helmet Sunday if Gilbert is inactive. Should something happen to starting left tackle Kelvin Beachum during the game, center Maurkice Pouncey would likely be the one to shift outside.

Linebacker Ryan Shazier (knee) practiced fully again Friday and it looks like he might be back this weekend in some capacity after missing the last four games with a knee injury. He ends the week listed as probable.

Defensive end Brett Keisel (not injury related), safety Mike Mitchell (not injury related) and safety Troy Polamalu (not injury related) round out the Week 8 injury report listed as probable.
