Pat Kirwan Has Steelers Winning AFC North In 2014

Pat Kirwan of CBS Sports and SiriusXM NFL Radio likes what the Pittsburgh Steelers have done this offseason coming off of back-to-back 8-8 seasons and he believes they will win AFC North in 2014.

In his 2014 NFL team-by-team record predictions and playoff picks article that was posted Wednesday, Kirwan has the Steelers going 10-6 this season

Kirwan writes:

Lots of people think the Steelers are old and over the hill. I’m not one of them. Big Ben took control of the offense in the second half of the season last year and finished 6-2 down the stretch. This year they win a close division race.

While Kirwan does have the Steelers making the playoffs in 2014, he has the New England Patriots beating the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship game this season. He even takes it a step further and predicts that the Patriots will beat the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl XLIX.

Kirwan is not alone in his 10-6 prediction for the Steelers as Advanced Football Analytics also has the same record for the black and gold in a recent team preview on ESPN.com. They actually have the Steelers going 10-2 in their first twelve games before closing out the regular season with four straight losses.

Are you on the 10-6 bandwagon as well?

The Steelers will close out their 2014 preseason schedule Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers ay Heinz Field, where they will also host the Cleveland Browns in their regular season opener one week from this coming Sunday.
